I have been researching a lot of the best teeth whitening products lately as I’ve been looking for treatments and teeth whitening tips that whiten teeth for some time – from laser treatments to home teeth whitening kits and everything in between. The reason I was hesitant was that I had been put off by some of the TV celebrities with their ‘toilet pan’ white veneers glaring out of the TV screen every Saturday night.

I liked the idea of a subtle laser teeth whitening procedure that would give a fresher, more youthful look and to counteract the dulling effect of the occasional cup of coffee or glass of red wine.

During my research I found a local dentist who specialized in this area and said he was prepared to share a few teeth whitening tips with me, about some of the best teeth whitening products without me having to sign up for any treatments or pay any money.

I went along to meet the dentist, Doug, for a full check up and consultation about the different methods of teeth whitening. It was immediately apparent to me that Doug has a passion for dentistry and that this isn’t just a job to him.

I decided to opt for the Zoom Laser Teeth Whitening option, even though it was slightly more expensive than the home teeth whitening kits they offered, as the results would be immediate. An appointment was made and I returned a week later excited but slightly nervous and full of more questions.

Doug’s gentle nature put me at ease straightaway. He was happy to go through everything again and I soon found myself relaxed and ready to begin the treatment.

To keep my mouth open for the treatment, a support was used which also had a guard for my tongue. It was surprisingly comfortable. For protection, gauze covered my gums and the soft tissue inside my mouth. A liquid was used which set to seal the edges to prevent anything seeping through. Leaving just my teeth exposed a teeth whitening gel was applied which would react with the laser light to whiten my teeth.

The timer was set for three lots of 15 minutes with a short break in between so that Doug could check I was alright and that everything was still in place. I was also given a button to press if I wanted the treatment to stop at any time. I briefly felt a slight sensitivity in one tooth but in general there was no discomfort at all – which was another reason why I felt these were some of the best teeth whitening products available – I have a low pain threshold!.

Before I knew it the treatment was finished and I was given a mirror to examine the effects. I immediately noticed a difference, a much brighter, whiter smile but in a completely natural way, no “TV celebrity syndrome” for me!

The dentist then took moulds of my teeth so that trays could be made up to enable me to top up teeth whitening gel from home if needed.

For me the gel and laser teeth whitening treatment were definitely the best teeth whitening products I could find. I smiled all the way home and in fact I haven’t stopped smiling since, and why not? I now have a bright new smile and I want everyone to see it.
